A path or object is a shape that is composed of anchor points connected by straight or curved line segments. A path can be open or closed. Rectangles and ovals are closed paths because they have no endpoints
A line is an open path and can be reshaped.
Deleting objects
To remove an object that you’ve just created, Undo (Ctrl-Z) To remove an object that has been in existence for a while, do the following.


1. Choose the Selection tool, then click on the object you want to delete

-or-

Choose the Lasso tool, then drag around the object you want to delete.

2. Press Delete or Backspace on the keyboard or choose on the Edit menu (Menu Bar) Clear or Cut
If you’re using the Direct-selection tool and only some of the object’s points are selected, press Delete twice.

Deleting several objects at once:
1. Marquee the object you want to remove using the Selection tool then press Delete or Backspace
