Drawing geometric objects
How to create a rectangle or an ellipse by dragging:

1. Chose the Rectangle or ellipse tool.

2. As you drag, you will see a marquee which represents the outline of the rectangle or oval. Once you relase the mouse, the rectangle or oval will be selected, and it will be colored to whatever your current fill color and stroke color setting is.

3. If you only want to see the outline of the shape you just created without the color, select View on your Menu Bar and select Outline.
To reverse this (going back to color view) go again to View on your Menu Bar and select Preview
To toggle back and forth from outline view to preview, press (Ctrl+Y)


How to create a rectangle or a sqaure by specifying dimensions:

1. Choose the Rectangle tool or the Ellipse tool
2. Click on the Artboard where you want the shape to appear
3. A Rectangle dialog box will appear
4. In the dialog box, enter your height and width dimensions
5. If you want to create a square, click on the word 'Height' and the width value will be copied into it.
Click OK or press Enter on your keyboard.

How to create a circle by specifying dimensions:

1. Choose the Ellipse tool
2. Click on the Artboard where you want the shape to appear
3. An Ellipse dialog box will appear
4. In the dialog box, enter your height and width dimensions
5. If you want to create a perfectly round circle, click on the word 'Height' and the width value will be copied into it.
6. Click OK or press Enter on your keyboard.
